Health Assist program and Dyson Group finalists in WorkSafe Awards

September 2019

The finalists have been announced for the 2019 WorkSafe Awards, and CAC's Health Assist program with the Dyson Group of Companies is a finalist within the Best Solution to a Specific Workplace Health and Safety Issue category.

The WorkSafe Awards celebrate Victorian businesses and individuals whose innovation, initiatives and commitment have made an outstanding contribution to workplace health, safety, wellbeing and return to work - we are very excited that our strong partnership with Dyson Group has been recognised by the WorkSafe judging panel.

Dyson Group and CAC collaboratively developed Health Assist; a proactive workplace health and wellbeing program involving the on-site presence of a CAC Psychologist at the main depot twice-weekly - this includes confidential one-on-one counselling sessions with staff, manager/staff support regarding the provision of Psychological First Aid, strategies to manage common work-related issues, and tailored support with managing other life concerns, including family difficulties and healthy life choices.  CAC also delivered workshops to develop staff understanding of mental health and wellbeing strategies, and provide a critical incident response service as required.

The Health Assist initiative has supported increased safety and health outcomes for Dyson Group employees.  The program is adaptable, and could be easily applied across other organisations or industries - the investment by Dyson Group has supported not only the prevention of work-related injury, but also genuine improvement in the health and wellbeing of their employees.  If you are interested in discussing how your organisation could benefit from a similar initiative, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Innovative Services from CAC recognised at the ARPA Awards

August 2019

We are thrilled to announce that CAC was again recognised at the Australian Rehabilitation Provider Association (ARPA) Victorian Awards ceremony on 9 August 2019, celebrating the achievements of the rehabilitation industry.

CAC has won the Innovation in Return to Work Award for the second consecutive year, with the award presented in relation to our innovative service delivery through having both a Rehabilitation Consultant and Vocational Consultant provide coordinated support within the Capacity Support Service offered to Workers that have sustained a workplace injury.

Our Consultants work closely together to support the Injured Worker, and their Treating Health Practitioner to consider a meaningful change of work capacity, allowing the Worker the best possible chance to successfully return to work following a workplace injury.  This collaborative approach has resulted in CAC achieving results in excess of 20% above the WorkSafe Scheme average.

CAC awarded 3-star rating by WorkSafe Victoria for Occupational Rehabilitation

January 2019

CAC have again received the highest possible star rating for New Employer Services (NES) from WorkSafe Victoria in the most recent release of occupational rehabilitation benchmarks.

Each quarter, WorkSafe Victoria provides performance reports to the occupational rehabilitation providers and insurance agents. In order to receive a 3-star rating from WorkSafe, a provider's sustained return to work (RTW) outcomes must be more than 10% higher than the median provider outcome.  This means that we are actively working to ensure real jobs are secured for sustained and meaningful return to work outcomes.

A big congratulations to all CAC Consultants and their teams who strive to achieve the best possible outcomes for workers and employers.  If you are an organisation seeking injury management advice, training, or return to work services, please get in touch.

CAC is proud to support AccessAbility Day

November 2018

There are 2.2 million Australians living with disability who are of working age, but Australians with disability are under-represented in the workforce.  In fact, the employment rate for people with disability is almost half compared to those without disability.

During the week of 26 – 30 November 2018, we will be taking part in AccessAbility Day – a new Australian Government initiative developed to connect job-seekers with disability and employers.  CAC is proud to be part of this important initiative that will give us the opportunity to host a job-seeker with disability who is interested in the administration and logistics industry.

For more information about AccessAbility Day, visit the AccessAbility Day website at www.jobaccess.gov.au/accessabilityday or call JobAccess on 1800 464 800.  TTY users can phone 1800 555 677, and then ask for 1800 464 800.
